Or are modern noirs just not classified in the same genre?

What about "The Man Who Wasn't There", "The Last Seduction" and noir-influenced films like "Brick"?

The IMDB actually has very specific rules for what shorts are permitted (i.e. it must be over a certain budget, or it must have appeared in a major film festival). Therefore, the drop in planned shorts is more a visualization or IMDB policy than anything regarding production planning.
