Am I missing something? I thought there's be one set of stats for New York state uninsured, and another for the US as a whole, but I only see one line.

Yeah, click on the two categories on the legend to the right of the map. The words are cut off but the first one says "Percent uninsured NY" and "Percent uninsured US."
